How I met Jaclyn & asked her into Medusa Rising

I hang out with a group of very smart matriarchists in a server, as one does. Jaclyn showed up as a new member the admins were onboarding as a new admin. I liked her vibe, I was drawn to her focus on stewarding and tending our own energy to bring into the work. I like playing my table rather than the other player. I'm competitive against the game, not people. Jaclyn's study and teaching in Self Love struck me as a perfect antidote to the personal damage of living in patriarchy no matter how thick or thin our feminist analysis runs. And lucky for me, the timing turned out to be wrong.

This Is Not Woo-Woo

The personal is political is personal – but they don't perfectly solve each other, and feminist consciousness and movement takes A LOT of personal examination and commitment (and time and energy and many women burn out). For me, I am just so fucking frustrated that we're right and over our intellectual history feminists have worked out quite a lot real and effective solutions to the terrors of patriarchal capitalist life. I'm like Bruce Bannon in that one Marvel movie where the alien monster is coming at the Avengers and

It's all very Macho Masculine put to the protective uses it should be. I have a lot of "masculine" energy. Like Bruce, "I'm always angry." Now more than ever – how in the holy world are all these people this murderous and indifferent? When will we overcome their terrible looting of the world and our very life-energy? Faaaaack! Hulk Smash.

But no, Esmée does not smash. Esmée analyzes, schemes, connects and dreams outward. Which, it turns out takes about the same amount of energy minus all the destruction of infrastructure and loss of life.

Jaclyn knows a lot about committing to a calmer, more self-honoring path for not just surviving in this world but loving the hell out of it by loving the hell out of ourselves. She has been through some things. Literally, catalyzing the hell inside into a habitation for both our warmth and our own unique woman's wisdom and power.

As If

I brought her into this project because with her support more of us can make the little shifts and adjustments we need to become the people who can not only imaging the new world but live as if we're in that new world now. World's are built in the habitation, not only in the urban permaculture planning.

There's no program. That's what's cool about Jaclyn's work. There's no "one weird trick" or "habit building journal" or whatever. There's no gimmick. There's just support in the deep listening and patient experimentation in tenderness that loving ourselves fully and well requires.
