Looking to 2026, Goddess Help Us
Update | Light Festivals, February's Reading Group, and a collage!
The Gorgons are hibernating over the Hanukkah-Yuletide and through Epiphany. Thursday’s post is a reflection on responses to the Asymmeterical Re-Worlding by Therese Doherty (all the posts are linked there). It’s a reminder that being a little wobbly is being alive and connected. We hope your dark season is regernative and nourishing.
Ecocide and Ecothrive are our topics for February’s Reading Circle. I’m very interested to hear your responses to these two books. There’s a whole TrAd movement out there and there’s a whole Ecovillage movement out there, and I am very interested in how they’re both very feminist at their roots and one of them won’t say it out loud.
Here’s a lovely little review of Transformative Adaptation (TrAd) to give you a flavor our the book. You can buy it anywhere books are sold in print or digitally. It’s short and urgent book. Clear and practical.
And Gaia Education’s EcoVillage Design Curriculum is a great guide. It’s free in exchange for your email. EDE is also the central practice of Dancing Goddess/SHE-EDE born of Abendroth’s Modern Matriarchal Studies courses. It’s rich. Longish. And you can skim, that’s totally fine.
Reading Groups are not courses. We’re just talking and exploring. Bring your insights, dreams, ideas, frustrations, fears, to this conversation. Let’s enrich each other’s perspectives and practices. Let’s sit with the world together.
Pythia and Tiamat members, you’re already invited. All Other Members, tickets are $6. Watch this space mid-January for the email with the detail. :)
From my view a day’s ride by horse from the Empire’s Hellmouth, it’s looking bleak, cousins. The new National Defense Strategy brings back the Monroe Doctrine with an eye to controlling the whole Western Hemisphere, These souless creatures are doubling down every minute. BUT. I trust we have the skill to take the opening their destruction creates. We will do it in grief, and we will do it in resolve, and we will build worlds for women that honor and nurture our embeddedness in Gaia's Life. Medusa Rising is still here after nearly a year, and RadMatFem has the principles we need for a livable future, and we’re finding the intersections where we can deepen power and plant our feet to win. We all need a rest. There is much to do.
To joy, coziness, and gathering your thrumming energy in these Light Festivals.
