Medusa Rising accepts work in any genre on any feminist topic and in translation into English. We accept work by women from the personal to the political, from the most factual to the most imaginative.

Paid members starting with the $2 Yacumamas also get free access to quarterly live events like the Reading Circle (and future ones we’ll invent later), and can access monthly sessions like Soul Craft anytime with an additional ticket for $6 all of which goes to Jaclyn for prep and hosting and all.

Soul Craft Sessions with Jaclyn are a monthly perk of the $8 Pythia and $20 Tiamat rates, and a portion of your membership goes to Jaclyn when you attend. You will receive a separate, unique link to the Soul Craft space in the server. These conversations are for session participants only. These are open ended, soul searching and soul making conversations. Both Corra and Yacumama members may purchase tickets to any single session you like. Jaclyn’s free essays at MR will often give a sense of the areas of exploration.

Similarly for the Reading Circles with Esmée, except for two things: that it meets quarterly and is also free for Yacumamas (Corras may attend with a ticket). Our next two books are Dancing Goddess on matriarchal aesthetics (May 2) and Feminist International (Aug1) on … creating feminist international movement power!

Future Programming …

Between us Gorgons, we’re dreaming of little seminars and lives we can host around developments in science and tech, deep focus on an element of feminist theory or a feminist writer/artist/creator, relating the applications of critical and imagnative thought, what community/mutual aid looks like in the age of AI surveillance, creating a or some feminist international/s to counter the fascist international we see growing by leaps and bounds.

We'll see what develops over the next quarter and bring you news.

Topics you suggested all sound vital. If you, or writers/creatives you know, are working on them, please send them our way!! Maybe you want to host a live session on a topic you suggesed?? Reach us at info@medusarising.org. Any of these could be writing or live sessions, some could be art or poetry, bring it on! They always flow back and forth from conversation to publication.

Feels Useful to Publish

• Neo-Patriarchy: especially in technology and in our tech sector which is prevalent in our everyday lives/Brainwashing misogyny into users with algorithms – Also the new traditionalism, manosphere, etc.

• Trad wives and the rise of interest among women to be Amish

• Demolishing arguments that pornography constitutes "free speech" and deserves 1A protections ("Obscenity" as defined by Miller v. California, in that case, "mail," sets up that pornography that satisfies all three criteria as decided under that ruling are NOT protected speech, and "Free Speech" does not mean "right to an audience." A common argument by Free Speech absolutists that common sense guardrails around accessing pornography like age verification is an undue burden to people who want to see it.)

• A reasserting that there is nothing positive and empowering about pornography, prostitution, and other forms of "sex work."

• SURROGACY! The classist commodification of poor women's bodies in surrogacy!

• The Aunt Lydias of Patriarchy (not to tear down other women, but to examine why women take up this role on enforcing the Patriarchy's rules among other women.)

• How to fight for women's rights in red states, how to protect women from ICE and other violent groups in the country like informal paramilitaries or militias

• feminist and leftist activism -- tensions and harmonies

Really Could Go Either Way

• Carnonormativity, veganism, pop culture, beauty standards, pornography, pimp lobbyism, autism, gothic literature, involuntary celibacy

• Myths/misrepresentations about feminism, women’s culture, feminist ancestors, feminist metaphysics and spirituality, women’s health (chronic illness, disability, neurodivergence)

• Metapatterning and Be-ing in Mary Daly's vision
• Can RMF's develop her concepts further?
• Getting off men's grids
• Feminist theory topical deep dives
• How women live free of men's oppression

It's easy to see a process where we talk amongst oursevles to help one of us then do a bit of writing. The Gorgons are very generous editors.

Be on the lookout for news of the server and how to navigate it in April. The first Soul Craft Session will open in late April. The next Reading Circle is coming May 2.
