I was despairing with some feministas about how to get meaningful support to the people of Gaza. The answer turned out to be: that's really hard.

I know this feels random and unsatisfactory, but as long as there's no big NGOs getting in, as long as Israel lays siege and Hamas keeps giving reason, this is what we can do. Help the people this war is raging over.

Nora Reed is the glass artist whose been sharing accounts for a long time asking for support for them.

She's done what looks more effective. Find a family you want to support and share their fundraiser. There’s no other way right now.

When I asked Nora for recommendations, they offered these accounts. But Nora is sharing families nearly every day. As you know, desperation is the only word for Gaza now.

If you can, please give. If individuals aren't your thing, at least try these organizations:

Women Wage Peace and Waging NonViolence

Accounts: Give & Share

Ahmad Madhoun is on GoFundMe and is giving aid beyond his family to their neighbors as he can.

Alaa is on Chuffed with her three girls. They are trying to get to Egypt. As Nora explains, “Alaa met her goal on GoFundMe– and then they pulled the ground out from under her. The GoFundMe was cancelled and the pledges were returned. This is, unfortunately, something that happens to Palestinians on a regular basis; her account is genuine.”

Hala is also on Chuffed and advocating for other families with her account on Bluesky

We can't be all succor for all people. But we can be some for some.

Only the living can build peace.
